Mission Statement
Founded in 2009 and incorporated in 2016, Leviathan Lab, Inc. (LL) is an award-winning creative studio whose mission is the advancement of Asian and Asian American (A/AA) performing artists and their work. Through the speaking of A/AA artists’ most intensely personal, most deeply felt words, and the forthright presentation of A/AA bodies, presence, and gestures on stage and on screen, LL works to promote social justice, bridge rifts in communities, and assert the power of art to change the world. We function as a lab where artists can be courageous, experiment, and thrive, even as they create works that captivate the young, professional NYC audiences we serve.

Under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Ariel Estrada, LL’s core programs for A/AA artists include the development of new plays and musicals by A/AA playwrights, composers, and lyricists through readings and workshops.
