DYKES ON BIKES SEATTLE CHAPTER

Seattle, Washington, 98104 United States

Mission Statement

The Dykes on Bikes® Seattle Chapter is an organization dedicated to empowering and uplifting our Western Washington communities and one another through our advocacy, education, donations, and actions. Our roots run deep in the history of LGBTQIA+ struggles for visibility, inclusion, civil rights, and chosen identity. We honor those who came before us with the creation and defense of queer spaces and the unapologetic ownership of dyke-identified motorcycle culture.

About This Cause

Built into the culture and core mission of Dykes on Bikes is the time we spend volunteering in service to our local community. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit and our mission is to support social justice, equity, and inclusion through advocacy and philanthropic endeavors in the LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and womxn’s communities. Our 39 Partner Organizations (a list that is constantly growing) includes partners such as the Lambert House, Lavender Rights Project, Peer Seattle, Planned Parenthood, Rain City Rock Camp, Trans Pride, Seattle LGBTQ Commission, Seattle Non-Binary Collective, Stonewall Youth, and many more! Our volunteering has included jobs such as doing security to protect queer community events, cooking a monthly dinner for the LGBTQIA+ youth at Lambert House, leading parades and protests, grounds-work and maintenance assistance for lesbian retirement communities, providing additional muscle for the set-up or tear-down of community events and Pride, and so much more!
