About This Cause
YWCA Knoxville Programs: Women's Housing--The YWCA Keys of Hope program offers a 58-bed facility and counseling that empowers them to become self-sufficient by providing safe, affordable housing for up to 2 years. 24-hour staff provides support and monthly programming for women to encourage goal planning, career advancement, self-care, budgeting, and permanent housing. Domestic Violence Advocacy & Outreach: The Victim Advocacy Program provides lifesaving services including safety planning and risk assessment for victims of domestic violence through advocacy in court, in the community, at the Family Justice Center, community education, and support groups. Services are provided in English & Spanish. The Enough! Program is an intensive training program for qualified volunteers to provide advocacy and outreach to victims of domestic violence and the community through education and support. The GameChangers program is a violence prevention project aimed at engaging at-risk middle school boys and adult male mentors in bystander education to prevent domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Education & Community: The YWCA Phyllis Wheatley Center provides results-based academic support and mentoring to at-risk students and families by offering an after-school enrichment program for middle-school students, partnership at community schools, summer camp for youth aged 5-12, and Y-Teens Leadership programming for young emerging female leaders ages 10-18. The Center serves as a community hub in East Knoxville by providing support for parents, fellowship programming for seniors, health and wellness classes, and rental space. Health & Fitness: Club W provides accessible health and fitness programs to everyone - regardless of income, ability, or background. The low cost of annual memberships--only $40 for adults, $12 for teens allows community members to enjoy free fitness classes, nutrition workshops, workout rooms, and an indoor heated lap pool. Non-profits and businesses can partner to offer clients and staff access to wellness through additional membership opportunities.
