About This Cause
Girls Inc. of Chattanooga is a non-profit (501c) organization dedicated to serving the girls of Hamilton County, ages 6-18. Girls Inc. offers more than a dozen in school and out of school programs covering areas such as STEM, Reading Literacy, Homework assistance, women's history as well as providing social-emotional health guidance. The Girls Inc. Experience provides a safe structured "Girls Only" environment. Girls create trusting relationships with adult mentors, they experience intentional programming that broadens their horizons and counters stereotypes, as well as research-based curricula that builds age-appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes. The overall Experience is a holistic approach to educating and empowering girls, providing Girls Inc. girls with the confidence to finish high school, to pursue nontraditional careers, and expose them to the opportunity they may not otherwise have. Girls Inc. has been a part of the Chattanooga community since 1961 serving over 25,000 girls over the years.
