Mission Statement
We bring nourishing food to the people of our region who have the need, and courage, to seek help. Working hand in hand with retailers, manufacturers, farmers, buying alliances and individual donors, our mission is to end hunger for every person in our region, today. And tomorrow, do it again.
About This Cause
Through a network of more than 300 partners, and generous donations of money, time and resources, we’ll support those in need until hunger is eliminated, our mission is filled, and we’re needed no longer. The Chattanooga Area Food Bank sources more than 12 million pounds of food annually. Much of this food comes from the kind donations of retailers, manufacturers and local farmers. But we also purchase food at reduced prices because of our buying power—which is why donated dollars can go much farther than donated food items. And as a member of Feeding America, we can further leverage our dollars to get more food for less, a savings that we pass along to our partner agencies. We don’t source just any food. Nutritional value is important to us and to the people we serve. That’s why we’ll soon begin adding nutritional coding to food products – because we are committed to providing food that is healthy and fresh and nourishing to the bellies we fill.
