Mission Statement
Williamson County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) advocates for the best interest of abused and neglected children within the juvenile court system. It is our vision to see every child in a safe and permanent home.
About This Cause
Located in Franklin, Tennessee, Williamson County CASA is court appointed into cases of child abuse or neglect. We train, supervise, and mentor community volunteers to be the voice of these victimized children in court. We essentially become the eyes and ears of the judge to help him/her make sound decisions in the lives of the children we serve. Last year, approximately 90 volunteers served 344 children in our local community. Imagine 344 children with no voice, no one to look out for them, no one to know what scares them, no one to protect them! That's the reality for those 344 children we served last year. Often, their court appointed special advocate is the only stable, constant adult in the life of the child. We investigate the child's circumstances and living conditions, we advocate for the child in the community and court, and we make recommendations to the juvenile judge on what is in the best interest of the child.
