Mission Statement
The DAY Program is committed to serving and empowering the youth of Shelby County. It is a community-based day treatment facility and school located in Shelby County. The DAY Program was established in 1982, and serves at-risk adolescents ages 13-18. It is a private school, licensed by the Alabama Department of Youth Services, and is a non-profit United Way Agency.
About This Cause
The vision of the DAY Program is to be the premier alternative program providing a pathway for success to at-risk youth. The mission is to provide education and clinical services to these young people, offering many a second chance for success. The DAY Program has had demonstrated success in academic remediation, behavioral modification, and in serving as an alternative to suspension and expulsion. The values if the Program are: Care and Compassion, Education and Learning, Potential and Growth, and Relationships and Trust.
