Back Bay Mission strengthens neighborhoods, seeks justice, and transforms lives through a variety of programs for the poor and marginalized of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
About This Cause
Back Bay Mission has been a force for good on the Mississippi Gulf Coast since 1922. Over almost a century, we've run a wide range of services for poor and marginalized people on the Coast and created many independent social service agencies in our community. Today, we operate six major programs (each with several sub-programs): education and empowerment, emergency assistance, housing rehabilitation, the Micah Day Center and homeless outreach, mission immersion experiences, and supportive housing. We rely on the support of individuals, congregations, and organizations throughout the United States as well as the services of about 700 volunteers each year.
