Mississippi Food Network changes lives by fighting hunger today and feeding hope for a healthier tomorrow.
About This Cause
Since 1983, Mississippi Food Network has been collecting, warehousing and distributing food to member agencies to help provide for people in Mississippi facing food insecurity and/or hunger. Through our 430 member agencies operating food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, afterschool programs, senior citizen programs and other human service programs, we are providing for 150,000 people each month through our Emergency Food Program, Feed Our Neighbors. In addition, we operate a BackPack Program, providing food to children on the weekends who otherwise would face food insecurity. We also have an afterschool snack program for children in programs focusing on enrichment activities and summer feeding sites to ensure these children have enough to eat to nourish their bodies.
