Mission Statement

We are a charity medical, dental and behavioral health care organization that serves the economically disadvantaged in Dallas County.

About This Cause

Healing Hands Ministries Medical and Dental Clinic serves the economically disadvantaged residents of Dallas County by offering a wide array of medical, dental and behavioral health services. HHM began serving patients in March, 2007, and was borne out of the love and compassion of several community stake holders as they observed the physical and emotional suffering of children, adolescents, and adults who do not have adequate medical and dental care. Healing Hands is involved in the community at the grass roots level by offering health education programs, love, support, encouragement, medical care, dental care, and a safe haven for communication. Healing Hands Ministries (HHM) is the first charity clinic in Texas to be certified by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Patient Centered Medical Home and one of only a handful nationally. NCQA is widely recognized as the leader in healthcare accreditation. Our clinic serves urgent and non-emergent needs to include children, adolescents and adults who tend to use hospital emergency rooms as their primary health care provider or those who have no health care resources. Our mission is to bring quality medical, dental and behavioral healthcare to the under-served. Our vision is Hope for the Spirit, Health for the Body. Healing Hands Medical and Dental Clinic is a primary-care, full-service clinic assisting families who have limited resources. Families who cannot find appropriate care often go untreated or end up seeking care in a hospital emergency room. Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas refers their uninsured and under-insured patients to HHM once they are triaged and treated at the emergency room or as inpatients. HHM then becomes the medical home for these patients. New patients referred to HHM receive an appointment to establish care within 48 to 72 hours. A treatment plan is then created to address the prescription drug needs, social service needs, primary care, specialty care, mental health care and diagnostic or ancillary care needs of the patient. There is a quarterly review of this process to determine if service standards are being met and to assure patients are establishing care with the goal to keep these patients out of the emergency room and to avoid unnecessary readmission to the hospital. HHM is now authorized to accept Medicaid and Medicare in an effort to assist many low income families who are unable to find appropriate care. This will include the children of uninsured parents for which we were previously not able to provide care. Our behavioral health capabilities now allow us to serve as an integrated healthcare clinic to provide holistic care and help remove the stigma related to mental health needs. This integrated approach allows our providers to consult with one another and the patient to ensure the most appropriate treatment plan is developed.
