She’s the First fights for a world where every girl chooses her own future. We team up with grassroots organizations to make sure girls everywhere are educated, respected, and heard.
About This Cause
For the past 15 years, She's the First has been at the forefront of defending girls' rights, through our partnerships with 685 community organizations in 42 countries in the Global South and through the Global Girls' Bill of Rights, a powerful platform for advocacy that we created with girls. In 2024, She's the First reached over 287,000 girls around the globe. As we look ahead to the next three years, we see a one-time chance to course correct the major setbacks girls faced due to COVID-19 lockdowns. For millions of girls who couldn't continue their education on Zoom nor find safety at home, this meant an uptick in pregnancy, school drop-outs, child marriage, and domestic abuse. We must act fast to see progress. We do this through trainings, grantmaking, and campaigns that center on girls' fundamental rights, especially sexual and reproductive health; mental and emotional health; and navigating power dynamics for healthy relationships. Your support will help us achieve our strategic goal of reaching more than half a million girls' power within their homes, organizations, and communities.
