Mission Statement
We serve our communities by ensuring healthy ecosystems in the upper American River and upper Cosumnes River watersheds through land conservation, stewardship, and education.
About This Cause
The American River Conservancy is a non-profit, community-based organization in the central Sierra Nevada foothills that preserves rivers and land for life. Since 1989, we have preserved over 29,000 acres of habitat, created over 35 miles of multi-use recreational trails, and provided environmental education to countless people of all ages. The Conservancy takes a uniquely integrated approach to accomplish its mission. Our work: 1) Conserves land forever 2) Promotes environmental education and recreational outings 3) Builds a volunteer base to maintain the land and trails and restore habitat for a healthy future We encourage supporters near and far to join us in conservation today!
