About This Cause
The Saint Vincent de Paul Society, Roseville, is an independent, Catholic Charity that has been providing health and human services to those in need in south Placer County since 1983. We currently have four programs: a food locker, two free medical clinics, a thrift store, and a dining room. Our food locker is our largest program and in 2015, provided supplemental groceries to an average of 660 households with a total of 1730 individuals each month. We also deliver groceries to 80 to 85 homebound seniors and handicapped persons each month. We provide two free medical clinics; one on Wednesday mornings at our Giuseppe Court location and one on Saturday mornings at the Gathering Inn. The clinics offers free urgent and triage medical care. In 2015, the clinics had 360 patient visits and provided 164 prescription medicines. Our thrift store sells collectables, clothing, household goods, and furniture at very low prices and also maintains a free clothes closet for those who cannot afford to purchase clothing. Our dining room serves a hot lunchtime meal five times a week and last year served over 20,000 meals in. The number of dining room guests varies from 50 to 90 per day. In 2015, the estimated value of the goods and services provided by Saint Vincent de Paul, Roseville, was $1,997,000.
