Families for Early Autism Treatment is a volunteer driven, non-profit organization of parents, family members and treatment professionals dedicated to providing education, advocacy and support for the Northern California Autism community. www.feat.org
About This Cause
Families for Early Autism Treatment is an Autism organization that directly helps families in the greater Sacramento region. Our goal is to ensure that all individuals with Autism have the opportunity to live with their family, maximize their potential, avoid institutional placement, and live as independently as possible. To help accomplish this goal, FEAT has worked since 1993 to ensure that evidence-based, best-outcome Autism treatment is available in Northern California. Additionally, FEAT provides resources, support groups and social activities for children with Autism and their families. FEAT maintains a website (www.feat.org) that is accessed throughout the world, and publishes monthly newsletters that contain valuable information. FEAT also maintains lending libraries in three locations where families can obtain information and check out resources free of charge. FEAT is a volunteer driven organization without a commercial building. Work is conducted from home offices located in neighborhoods throughout the ten county, greater Sacramento region that we serve. We are a local organization with no national affiliations. FEAT membership is free, and we provide education and advocacy support at no cost to those who request our help. Funding for FEAT comes entirely from its families and generous donors within the community. FEAT is privileged to have an active Board of Directors that is comprised of all volunteer parents with children who have Autism.
