Our Mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as responsible, reliable, and caring citizens.
About This Cause
For over 20 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Sacramento has provided children and teens in the region with mentoring and enriching programs during the critical out of school time hours. This year we served more than 6,000 youth in the region. We offer programs in sports and fitness, the arts, STEM, health and life skills, education and career development, and character and leadership. Our Clubs are located on elementary and high school campuses, in shared community spaces, and even in the Sacramento County Juvenile Hall. We operate two full-service branches, including a teen center in downtown Sacramento. This Club is engaged in strategic partnerships with school districts, county probation, and the City of Sacramento to offer our programs and services in neighborhoods in need. Last year, our Club programs engaged more than 350 teens in career exploration and job readiness activities, and we placed 76 teens in paid internships through our summer youth employment programs. we served 165, 503 healthy meals, and 480 Club Members participated in our free intramural athletic leagues. While it only costs a Club Member's family $20 for an annual membership, the true cost of providing these life enhancing programs to the region's youth is approximately $1,600 per child per year. Support from community members is critical to ensuring that Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Sacramento will be able to continue serving youth who need us most.
