Mission Statement
Rocklin Swim Team is a non-profit aquatics program serving youth swimmers from the City of Rocklin and surrounding areas. The RST Mission is to provide the culture, training and development for swimmers of all ages and abilities to become all that they choose to become.
About This Cause
Rocklin Swim Team, we are a non-profit organization that exists for the sole purpose of sponsoring youth swimming activities in the City of Rocklin and surrounding areas. Our organization started back in 1996 as a small recreational swim team and grew to encompass all facets of aquatics for southern Placer County. We are dedicated to the wholesome development of the aquatics skills for every swimmer that is appropriate to his/her level of experience and ability. We offer a full spectrum of aquatics programs for youth ages 3-18 at the two high school swimming pools in Rocklin, CA. Swim Lessons - Summer Aquatics In 2012, Rocklin WAVE was asked to take over management of the City of Rocklin's summer aquatics program. We offer a range of classes from group lessons, private or semi-private for swimmers of all ages. These are offered in late Spring and summer months. Non Competitive Recreational Swim Team - Splash We also offer a non-competitive swim team where children have the ability to learn or enhance beyond what is taught in traditional swim lessons. This is sometimes the next evolution after years of lessons if a competitive swim team is not a consideration. Splash will run during the summer months (June and July). Competitive Recreational Swim Team - Rocklin WAVE Rocklin WAVE swim team is our competitive swim team that is part of the Northern California Swim League (NCSL). Our recreational swim team season begins the first week in April and runs through the end of July. The Rocklin Wave, a non-profit club, is run by its elected Board of Directors (parent volunteers) which meets once a month. We encourage members to take an active role in the meetings, committees and fundraisers that support the team as a whole. We are constantly growing and training young swimmers to maintain a well-rounded competitive swim team. Besides the normal summer season for Rocklin WAVE swim team, we also offer a Fall and Winter Swim to allow recreational swimmers to stay in the water during the off-season. Fall Swim usually runs mid-August through October. Winter Swim takes place during months of November, December and January. Year Round USA Swimming - Mavericks Rocklin Swim Team has formed a year round USA Swimming program- Mavericks. There are strict rules about USA swimming that prohibit swimming both recreational and USA swimming. Mavericks is a competitive swimming organization for kids who want to swim year-round, and for many this is their primary or only sport. They practice 5-6 days per week (depending on their age). There are meets monthly and as the kids progress their are higher level meets which last 3-4 days and include some travel.
