Mission Statement
The Interfaith Council of Amador/Interfaith Food Bank is the only hunger relief organization for Amador County California. Our vision is a time without hunger in Amador County, a time when parents don't go without to feed their children, and a time when the elderly do not have to choose between housing, their lifesaving medication and food. Our mission is to eliminate hunger and its causes because no one should have to face the day hungry.
About This Cause
Founded in 1996, the Interfaith Council of Amador is a non-profit 501-c3 corporation. The Interfaith Food Bank opened its doors in April of 1998 and is the only hunger relief organization in our community. We provide emergency & supplemental food to over 5300 Food Insecure Amador County residents 2-3 times a month. Primarily community funded, the Interfaith Food Bank has distributed over Twenty million pounds of food since opening its doors.
