About This Cause
The Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation raises funds, fosters partnerships and advocates for programs and projects at Sonoma County Regional Parks. We support some of the most popular parks in Sonoma County, including Spring Lake and Doran Beach. Visit our website at www.SonomaCountyParksFoundation.org and choose the tab "Videos and Publications" to see the latest videos highlighting our work. Currently, the Parks Foundation is focusing its fundraising on the following: -- The Environmental Discovery Center provides science field trips that exceed California state standards to more than 18,000 elementary school children annually. -- We are investing in fire recovery and fire preparedness to ensure Regional Parks can help protect our communities in the event of future wildfires. -- The Water Safety Patrol distributes life vests to vulnerable swimmers at the Russian River and provides outreach to help children and their families play safely at the river. This program saves lives! -- We are raising funds to build new soccer and baseball fields at Maxwell Farms Regional Park in Sonoma. -- We are increasing the mileage of trails at Taylor Mountain Regional Park from 5 miles to more than 15 miles. One of the newest parks in the Regional Parks system, Taylor Mountain also hosts the county's first Natural Play Area, built with support from Parks Foundation donors.
