Mission Statement
The Point San Pedro Road Coalition, a non-profit organization, works in collaboration with the neighborhood associations and residents that make up the Pt. San Pedro Road corridor in east San Rafael, California. Its purpose is to to enhance and preserve the beauty and environment of the area, to promote the health and safety of the residents, and to protect the peaceful enjoyment of the local neighborhoods.
About This Cause
The Pt. San Pedro Road corridor in east San Rafael, CA, is a beautiful region combining a variety of residential communities, a marina and a commercial center. The region is composed of areas that are within the city limits of San Rafael, as well as areas that are under County of Marin jurisdiction. The Coalition was formed in 1999 initially to protect the local environment, principally inspired by the environmental issues generated by the industrial mining and asphalt production operations at the San Rafael Rock Quarry, which is located in a residential area. The Coalition subsequently expanded its mission to include Disaster Preparedness, Wetlands, and many other issues and events regarding the near- and long-term future of the Point San Pedro Road community.
