About This Cause
Opened in 1995 as a gift to the Northwest Arkansas region from Bernice Jones, The Jones Center is a regional center located in downtown Springdale. The Jones Center is a premier destination for its core high-quality recreation services, innovative youth programming and affordable community meeting space. The Center continues to grow through its strong, collaborative program partnerships. The Center primarily serves residents of Washington and Benton County, as well as visitors from other areas of Arkansas, eastern Oklahoma and southern Missouri. Approximately 70% of the children we serve are on Free/Reduced Lunch (98% at Jones Elementary, the school closest to the Center). THE JONES CENTER’S FACILITIES 220,000 Total Square Feet Year-round Indoor Ice Skating Rink Two Indoor Swimming Pools Gymnasium and Indoor Track Fitness Center and Walking Trail Chapel/Auditorium Conference Center and Meeting Rooms Basketball and Volleyball Courts Each year, the Center hosts thousands of families who swim in our indoor pools complex, visit our year-round ice rink, and exercise in our gym and fitness center. The pools and ice arena serve as host sites for youth and adult sporting clubs, for local and regional team meets, and for designated population tournaments such as the Special Olympics. Teams from both the Springdale Public Schools and the University of Arkansas are dependent on The Jones Center for practice and competitive meets. The Center is also expanding our recreational leagues and classes for the community.
