Through support, advocacy, research, and education, NAMI provides help and hope for millions of children and adults affected by mental illness and their families.
About This Cause
NAMI Oklahoma was founded in 1985 by family members of people with serious mental illness as a grassroots volunteer organization joined together to improve services for persons who are living wth mental illness. Today we support education, research, advocacy and other efforts to reduce stigma and discrimination against people living with a mental illness and their families, which will finally lead to understanding and acceptance for this common health disorder.
