Mission Statement
Calm Waters Center for Children and Families is a 501c3 organization providing free grief based support groups for children and families on their grief journey caused by death, divorce or other significant loss.
About This Cause
CW provides a safe place for grieving children & their parents to share their experiences, emotions & feelings in the metro area. Parents receive education & understanding of what their children are experiencing & help them during this period of adjustment. Free Family Support Groups are offered for children (3-18 years) & their families going through a death or divorce. Free School- based Support Groups (SBG) are for students (pre-K - 12th) suffering a family loss. CW provides “Parenting Through Divorce” seminars for divorcing parents in order to keep the child “out of the middle”. Also, grief workshops are available for school counselors/educators to better recognize grief in their students & to begin their own SBG. CW has expanded & is now offering Family Grief Groups in Edmond. The agency is also available for crisis interventions & speakers bureau. Strengths - 25 years of services, compassionate & empathetic staff w/ experience & grief expertise & strong board leadership.
