Mission Statement
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, is dedicated to excellence in collecting, exhibiting, preserving, conserving, and interpreting art for all people.
About This Cause
The museum strives to serve all people by pursuing excellence in art through collection, exhibition, and education. The museum holds its collections in trust for future generations and assumes preservation, conservation, management, and documentation as a primary responsibility. Through permanent installations, special exhibitions, education programs, scholarly research, and publications, the museum documents and interprets the collection for those who are familiar with art and art museums and for those for whom the experience is new. Education in its broadest sense has always been at the heart of the mission.
