The Houston Symphony has played a central role in Houston’s cultural and civic life for more than 100 years. Founded in 1913 by the guiding hand of Miss Ima Hogg, the Houston Symphony is one of America's oldest performing arts organizations with a distinguished musical history.

The mission of the Houston Symphony is to inspire and enrich the lives of our diverse citizenry through outstanding symphonic music performed by our great orchestra. Our vision is to be the entrepreneurial cornerstone of the performing arts in Houston through our performances, partnerships, connection to the community and educational activities.
