Mission Statement

Through the St. Vincent de Paul - San Antonio distribution sites work collaboratively in each community, aiding in reducing systemic poverty and preventing homelessness through intervention, holistic support, critical food, clothing and financial assitance. The goal is to create strong and vibrant communities, and help people achieve self-sufficiency.

About This Cause

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of the Archdiocese of San Antonio spans more than 10 South Texas counties and consists of 11 Districts with 54 Conferences. These parish-based conference locations involve over 2,000 Vincentian members and other committed volunteers in spiritual growth, friendship and service to those most in need. Through in person visits, our chapters identify and provide a variety of services including food, clothing, rent, and utility assistance. In addition, our San Antonio SVDP Central Council staff provides more than 400,000 meals annually to the homeless and offers food service job training in St Vinnys Bistro® for the Courtyard in the Courtyard at the Haven for Hope campus. Our small staff is responsible for direct services to those most in need as well as executing support activities and assistance for all our Chapter and Council programs and feeding the homeless at the Haven for Hope campus on a daily basis.
