Mission Statement
Mission Centers of Houston helps meet the physical and spiritual needs of people living in communities facing barriers in the Greater Houston area.
About This Cause
Founded in 1962, Mission Centers of Houston (MCH) helps meet the physical and spiritual needs of people living in communities facing barriers in the Greater Houston area. Through ongoing relationships, age-graded programs and mission partnerships we change lives with the love, mercy and grace of Jesus Christ. Our programs serve the whole person by ensuring clients can access their most essential needs like food and clothing, while also providing critical emotional and spiritual support to promote long-lasting change. Our wide range of programs include food assistance, services for people experiencing homelessness, Children and Youth Programs, programs for senior adults, parenting classes, leadership development (for children, youth, and college-aged individuals), women’s empowerment classes, community-wide special events, and more. In addition, our Compassion Center helps equip local churches in low-income neighborhoods throughout Houston with the physical goods, services, and training to meet the needs of residents within their own neighborhoods. The goal of these wraparound services is to address each client’s needs as a whole person—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—with a focus on meeting essential needs while supporting spiritual nourishment and relationship-building to improve the long-term health of these communities.
