About This Cause
Palm Valley Animal Society (PVAS) is a dedicated 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to the welfare of animals in Hidalgo County, encompassing five municipalities and the broader county community. With two facilities located in Edinburg, TX, PVAS is responsible for the intake of approximately 25,000 animals annually, serving a community of 775,000 residents. The organization is devoted to achieving and sustaining high save rates for all animals entering its care, aligning with comprehensive animal welfare standards. The mission of PVAS is to ensure the well-being and future of every animal in its charge. This is pursued through innovative adoption, foster care, and rescue transfer programs, along with a variety of support services aimed at benefiting pets within the shelter, the wider community, and in homes. These services include volunteer opportunities, programs to reduce fees, and a range of veterinary services, all designed to enhance the lives of pets and their owners.
