Mission Statement
The mission of The Child Crisis Center of El Paso (CCCEP) is to protect children from child abuse and neglect by providing emergency shelter services, family education programs and family support.
About This Cause
The Child Crisis Center of El Paso has a long and reputable history of providing prevention and protection services to those whom are the most vulnerable: children. We provide 24/7 emergency shelter for children, ages 0-13 whose family may be experiencing a crisis situation or in critical need of short term respite care. The children whom are in our care receive the following: meals, snacks, medical care (sometimes for the first time), clothing, shoes, hygiene items, individual beds and cribs. We transport each school age child to and from the child’s school and childcare facility to avoid additional disruptions in their lives. Included, we provide recreational play, indoor and outdoor playground, field trips, crafts and movies. Not only do we care for the child(ren) but we also provide case management and “Wrap-a-Round” services as a holistic approach to avoid a crisis reoccurrence and or homelessness. We create individualize service plans, referrals to community resources, food baskets, clothing vouchers, rent and utility assistance to ensure essential services are not disconnected, diapers, formula, school supplies, etc. These essential services go hand-in- hand with families falling homeless and are in dire need of basic needs for their welfare and survival. We also ensure that each child that walks through our doors in seen by our in-house therapist who immediately assesses the child thru CANS assessment. In addition to our shelter, we also provide additional child abuse prevention services through our Military Program, STEP Parenting Classes; all free at absolutely no cost to our clients. We are a one of a kind organization in our region. We work hand-in-hand with CPS, local authorities, military liaisons, school counselors, and local judges all to ensure the welfare of our young children. We do this solemnly thru the generosity of our community partners and thru sometimes exhausting fundraising. We are a non-judgmental organization that are true servants regardless as to the reason why their child or children are at our shelter. We provide unconditional services to those whom may be experiencing deployment, field training, stress relief, medical emergency, birth of a sibling, mental health issue, domestic violence, homelessness, victim of human trafficking, parent incarceration, abandonment/relinquish custody and parental drug or alcohol abuse-all which leads the child and their family to become homeless. Once we have exhausted all of our resources, we continue to support the families and their children thru follow-up care, case management, continued parenting classes, welfare checks, all to ensure that the families and their children are well and sustained.
