SA Youth’s mission is to empower youth and young adults to achieve their full potential by providing quality educational programming in a safe environment.
About This Cause
Founded in 1984, SA Youth meets their mission through two signature programs: Academic Achievers and See Our Achievements Rise! (SOAR!). Academic Achievers is an afterschool program which serves elementary students from 8 different campuses in South San Antonio Independent School District (SSAISD), giving students a safe space to continue learning after the school day ends. The SOAR! Program provides at-risk youth and young adults the chance to recover academic credits and earn an accredited high school diploma. During the 4-month accelerated program, SOAR! students receiving wrap-around services and over 100 hours of leadership and character development, skill-building, and workforce development training. SA Youth works diligently to ensure that all youth have access to quality educational opportunities in a trauma-informed and judgment free environment. Both programs are offered at no cost to students and their families and include robust mental health services provided by licensed SA Youth mental health professionals.
