Mission Statement
Founded on the Jewish values of Honoring Our Mothers and Our Fathers, improving the world, and caring for all, Shalom Cares provides personalized and innovative residential health and social services to the metro Denver community.
About This Cause
The heart of Shalom Park is a philosophy of living a life in which lifestyle choices are maximized, independence is encouraged, opportunities for continuing growth are available, and experiences are offered that provide fulfillment for each resident and staff member. Shalom Park is a place where residents may live their lives with the utmost dignity, honor and respect. The Shalom Park Nursing Home, which opened August 1992, is a state-of-the-art long-term care and skilled nursing residence. The bright, residential environment with private rooms for 135 residents provides a home where residents may live their lives with dignity, honor, and respect. Shalom Park has earned a reputation of excellence among nursing homes in the country, providing residents with personalized service and person-directed care to assist them in living a life as full and satisfying as possible regardless of their financial situation. Typically 80% of the residents are Medicaid recipients and receive financial assistance which enables them to reside at Shalom Park. The J. Leonard Levy Family Wellness Center, which opened June 2012 on the Shalom Park campus, was designed especially for seniors, offering innovative programs for therapeutic rehabilitation, recreation, and relaxation to benefit seniors in the nursing home and from the community. The Wellness Center, which now offers 27 classes each week, has more than 1,200 registered members, most of whom are community members. The Wellness Center includes a rehabilitation center, fitness equipment, a warm-water pool, and a Bistro. The Wellness Center was constructed with contributions from private individuals and foundations.
