Mission Statement
Hill Country Horse Rescue (HCHR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to rescuing equines from neglect, abuse, abandonment, and law enforcement seizures for over 32 years. We strive to improve the lives of equines by providing a safe haven for healing and rehabilitation while working with our equine partners to educate, inspire, and improve the lives of youth and their families.
About This Cause
We were established in 1987 and incorporated in 1988 by Bill and Jeannie Weatherholtz in Boerne, Texas. In 1994 we relocated to Pipe Creek, Texas, and with a large donation were able to purchase 20 acres. We have 18 horses in our care at present. All horses have shelter and are fed 2 times a day with hay/water available 24/7. Veterinarian and farrier services are provided continuously. We have been in continuous operation since 1987. We are open to the public Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 9 AM until 1 PM. Volunteers and groups are welcome.
