The Equality Texas Foundation works to secure full equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Texans through education, community organizing, and collaboration.
About This Cause
Equality Texas Foundation is the largest civil rights organization dedicated solely to protecting and securing full equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQ+) Texans. Through education, community organizing, and collaboration, we are changing Texas so that all people—no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity—can build their dreams. We have worked for almost 35 years in a challenging and often hostile climate, and we know how to carve victories in the face of strong opposition. Education and civic engagement are the foundation of our movement. Equality Texas Foundation seeks to educate, motivate, and activate all Texans to end discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. Through our continuous public education campaigns, we are winning hearts and minds within the state, and the majority of Texans now support the most critical of our pro-equality issues.
