Mission Statement

Since 1989, the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC) has been the nation's premier nonprofit organization exclusively dedicated to promoting, advancing, cultivating, and fortifying the Latinx/é arts field via funding, leadership training, grants, convenings, research, and advocacy.

About This Cause

At the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC), we believe in the power of arts and culture to transform lives, strengthen communities, and shape a more just and vibrant society. For over 30 years, we have championed Latinx/é artists and organizations across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, recognizing their essential contributions to the nation’s cultural fabric. Our community is as diverse as the stories we uplift, spanning generations, disciplines, and geographies, from bustling urban centers to rural landscapes. Through our National Leadership Institute, Advocacy Leadership Institute, and Intercultural Leadership Institute, we provide critical training and mentorship for Latinx/é artists and cultural workers. We distribute grants that fuel artistic innovation and organizational sustainability. And we conduct research to inform policy, funding, and advocacy, ensuring that Latinx/é voices are heard, valued, and supported. How We Work NALAC is more than an arts organization, we activate the transformative power of art and culture by: - Investing in artists and cultural leaders through financial, educational, and professional development opportunities. - Cultivating spaces of belonging where Latinx/é creatives can thrive, collaborate, and expand their impact. - Advancing advocacy and research to drive systemic change in the arts sector. - Strengthening the creative economy by ensuring Latinx/é arts and culture remain at the forefront of national conversations. Why Your Support Matters When you support NALAC, you are investing in the artists, storytellers, and visionaries who preserve our histories, challenge injustices, and reimagine our collective future. You are ensuring that Latinx/é arts and culture not only survive but thrive, empowering generations to come. Join us in shaping a more inclusive, equitable, and artistically rich world.
