Orenda Education is a private non-profit organization developing a network of public charter schools, educational support services and sports programming for children and youth, ages 5-18.

About This Cause

Many students may not reach their full academic and social potential in the large, more traditional public school setting. Orenda charter schools give parents a new public school choice that may be a better fit for their child. Each Orenda school is created to meet an identified educational need in the communities it serves. Orenda also operates schools for students who reside in hospitals, residential treatment centers, emergency shelters or foster group homes. Orenda provides a fully-accredited academic program provided by the residential facility. Orenda enters into formal agreements with the residential facility owner to provide all academic course work leading to a high school diploma. Supplemental services include knowledge assessments, tutoring, home bound instruction, remediation, summer school and wrap-around services. Orenda provides supplemental educational services during the day, after school hours and during the summer months to improve student achievement. The Orenda Club Sport mission is to complement local school programs by providing student athletes an affordable off-season development and competitive program designed to enhance and further their athletic careers. The club concept serves children and youth, ages 10-18 in Williamson County and surrounding areas. The club organizes teams by grade levels during the school team "off season" for several sports including baseball, basketball, volleyball, swimming, soccer, track & field, cross country, tennis, softball and lacrosse. Each organized team practices and competes during the off season in competitive tournaments and league play.
