Mission Statement
The Violet Crown Players, Inc., a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, respectfully requests your help for their sponsored projects, Diverse Space Dance Theatre (DSDT) & Diverse Space YOUTH Dance Theatre (DSYDT). Our mission is to provide Youth with excellent artistic training, performance and touring experiences. We also provide our young participants with the opportunity to develop as artists, promotors of health and engaged citizens. And they, as well, become worthy ambassadors or our culture overseas. We are an Internationally recognized performance entity, dedicated to producing relevant choreography for ourselves and for other companies. We produce 4 performances every year and tour to Europe with the most experienced of our company members [We pay most of the expenses!]. We continued traveling this Summer. About The Violet Crown Players’ Diverse Space Youth Dance Theatre: We create movement-based performance works that project connectedness and promote growth. We form dancers, physically and intellectually. We stimulate their curiosity and responsiveness. We emphasis safety and longevity Our Dance training builds muscles, character, community, and provides youth with an awareness of health and current social issues. We also provide affordable training and scholarships.
About This Cause
VCP is a non-profit arts organization that presents programs that include a variety of theatre arts. Our performers have been recognized for their artistic endeavors through local, national or international awards and contracts. The Violet Crown Players' ongoing project in dance is Diverse Space Dance Theatre under the direction of Toni Bravo. We develop original program pieces focusing on important social topics and present them in thought provoking, exciting, and innovative productions. Violet Crown and DSDT contribute in a unique way to the cultural landscape of the city of Austin. We believe that the arts have the power to positively impact all areas of a child’s life. The arts have a unique ability to capture children’s imaginations--motivating them to strive for excellence and prompting them to see themselves and the world around them from new perspectives. Our educational programs have been recognized by many international and national entities. Our dance youth performs throughout the City of Austin, in Dublin, IE. and in Berlin DE. Toni Bravo, our artistic director, works as a freelance teacher's teacher and choreographer in Dublin, IE; Berlin, DE; Valencia, ES; Rotterdam and Amsterdam NL; and throughout the USA
