Mission Statement
Austin Zoo is a privately run, non-profit zoo. Our mission is to assist animals in need through rescue, conservation and education.
About This Cause
Austin Zoo currently has over 300 animals from more than 100 different species. We rely on private and corporate donations, gate admissions, grants, fundraisers and sponsorships to continue to care for the animals we have, and to be able to take in animals that need a safe home. An average of 200,000 people visit Austin Zoo every year. Austin Zoo is located in the Texas Hill Country where the people of Central Texas and visitors from around the world can come to learn about the animals close-up, spend some time outdoors getting exercise and have fun creating memories together.
