Mission Statement
Spoons Across America is dedicated to educating under-served urban children, teachers and families about the benefits of healthy eating. Spoons works to influence the eating habits of children through hands-on education that celebrates the connection to fresh food and the important tradition of sharing meals around the family table.
About This Cause
Spoons Across America was founded in 2001 by a group of educators, chefs and food professionals to increase awareness of the importance of food and nutrition education to the health and well being of our children. We provide a variety of programs that enrich children's understanding of food and where it comes from, encouraging healthy eating and behaviors. Our programs complement the existing public school curriculums enriching the traditional classroom setting by integrating hands on, multi-sensory lessons into the school day, creating an authentic learning experience with long lasting impact.
