About This Cause

The Samaritan Women dba Institute for Shelter Care, a national Christian anti-human trafficking ministry founded in 2007. TSW previously operated one of only a handful of long-term restoration programs in this country, serving young women who were survivors of domestic human trafficking from across the United States. TSW operated two homes, having a capacity of up to 20 women. They provided a comprehensive trauma-informed program of spiritual, educational, vocational, relational, life-skills, and case management. All services were offered at no cost to the survivor. After years of experience, TSW now conducts research on understanding how shelters are organized, managed and staffed, as well as who and how they serve and has started a Shelter Care Mentoring Program. This program is designed to be a 2-year agreement between a start-up agency and TSW's Institute to work together with the shared goal of building a solid ministry foundation, trained leadership and staff.
