The League of Women Voters of the San Antonio Area, a nonpartisan organization, encourages informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
About This Cause
The League of Women Voters is a grassroots organization that has fought since 1920 to improve government and engage all voters in the decisions that impact their lives. Formed from the movement that secured the right to vote for women, the centerpiece of the League’s effort remains to expand civic participation and give a voice to all Americans through broad educational efforts and advocacy. The San Antonio League, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, has been empowering voters in the San Antonio area since 1940.
