Mission Statement
The mission of Texas Central Bleeding Disorders is to promote advocacy, support efforts to improve treatment and find a cure, increase public awareness, and provide education and support to those affected by an inheritable bleeding disorder across North Texas.
About This Cause
Founded in 1965, Texas Central Bleeding Disorders is dedicated to supporting those affected by an inheritable bleeding disorder through: Education and Support: TexCen is dedicated to empowering individuals and families affected by bleeding disorders through impactful educational programs and personalized support. Our Learning Dinners, Retreats, Camp Ailihpomeh, and the annual Texas Bleeding Disorders Conference provide invaluable training and a sense of community, bringing hundreds of families from across Texas together. We also offer crucial individual support through emergency assistance grants, travel support for medical treatments, educational scholarships, and mentoring programs. Advocacy: TexCen joins forces with other partner organizations to advocate at state and federal levels, working to ensure patients receive equitable, affordable, and quality treatments throughout their lives. Our annual Austin Days and Washington Days provide opportunities to raise awareness and push for policy changes that benefit our community. Awareness: Inherited bleeding disorders are often misdiagnosed or undiagnosed, which can lead to serious health consequences. TexCen participates in health fairs, medical symposiums, and extensive outreach efforts to increase awareness, improve diagnosis rates, and connect patients to specialized care. Through the Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk in North Texas and collaborations with other organizations, we work to raise awareness and vital funds for bleeding disorders support and research.
