Mission Statement
The Foundation of the Big D Charity Horse show is to provide a horse show for exhibitors of American Saddlebreds, Morgans and Ponies and to provide an environment for the horse community to support worthy charities by volunteering and through financial donations. The Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children has served as the primary beneficiary of this annual horse show since 2006 with more than $150,000 donated since then. In 1974, the Big D Charity Horse Show, Inc. received a 501(c)3 not-for-profit designation from the Internal Revenue Service.

Celebrating our 50th Anniversary! Announcing Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children is our charity recipient for 2021. To whom it may concern: We are asking for your support of our 50th Year Anniversary of Big D Charity Horse Show. April 22-25, 2021 at Will Rogers Coliseum in Ft. Worth Texas. Big D Charity Horse Show is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial support to our charity, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. It is by your continued generous support we’ve been able to accomplish our 2020 donation commitment and put on a first-class horse show. We are all sharing this unsettling time, each unavoidably affected by it. Big D Charity would like to wish your family good health and continued strength for the uncertain future. Current events make your generosity more vital than ever. Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children is one of the nation's leading pediatric centers for the treatment of orthopedic conditions, and sports injuries and fractures, as well as certain related arthritic and neurological and learning disorders, such as dyslexia. Since its inception in 1921, the hospital has provided medical care for more than 250,000 children. Patients receive treatment regardless of the family's ability to pay. Because of you, the challenges of 2020 did not compromise our continued financial support of our charity or our horse show. Despite the obstacles starting our 50th year, we’re confident that, with your help, we will continue to host a vibrant horse show. Through the years Big D Charity Horse Show has raised over $500,000.00 for Metroplex charities. It is something we never take for granted, and we sincerely hope you feel very much a part of our success. Your support makes possible ongoing care for more than 14,000 children each year as well as funds our annual horse show. We are fortunate that several hundred horsemen make their way from all over the nation to support Big D in its effort to reach out to others. As a spectator, exhibitor, and sponsor you will witness the excitement of American Saddlebred Horses, Morgan Horses, Friesian Horses and Road Ponies competing for trophies and prizes.
