About This Cause
Southwest Transplant Alliance is a nonprofit organization that by fulfilling the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. STA is among the largest of 58 federally designated, organ procurement organizations (OPOs). Founded in 1974, STA has facilitated more than 30,000 organ donations and enhanced the lives of tens of thousands of people through tissue donation. STA serves 89 counties across Texas, including Dallas, Beaumont, Bryan/College Station, Corpus Christi, El Paso, Galveston, Midland/Odessa, Temple, Tyler and Wichita Falls.
