Mission Statement
Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer (WOKC) is nonprofit organization with 40 years of history and one mission: “To work relentlessly for the day when cancer is no longer a threat to ANY child.” Founded in 1980, WOKC funds physicians and scientists across the U.S. searching for better treatments, and ultimately a cure for childhood cancer. We strive for every dollar received, 75 cents goes to support our mission. To date, WOKC has donated more than $12 million in pediatric research grants and programs supporting 35 projects at 14 research institutions. WOKC also provides immediate and long-term emotional support and hope to families undergoing cancer treatment through our Warrior and Buddy Bag Programs.
About This Cause
Our mission is simple: To work relentlessly for the day when cancer is no longer a threat to ANY child. We fund pediatric cancer research nationwide. Our Warrior program provides family support and fun, free events away from the hospital for children going through cancer treatment along with their siblings and parents. The signature Buddy Bag program services all hospitals across the DFW area. Rolling suitcases filled with specific needs are delivered to a child on their first day of admission for cancer treatment.
