Mission Statement
Hospice of Texarkana, Inc. was founded in 1985 by the Junior League of Texarkana with a $50,000 grant. The non-profit agency's mission is to significantly enhance the end-of-life experience by ensuring access to quality hospice care.
About This Cause
Hospice of Texarkana, Inc., a qualified 503 c 3 non-profit agency, has continued for over 40 years to serve patients with life-limiting illnesses regardless of their ability to pay or access to insurance benefits. The staff cares for patients who live within 50-miles of Texarkana in both Texas and Arkansas. In June 2016, the agency opened the only freestanding hospice inpatient care center within 75 miles. This was a $5.2 million investment in the community's health and well-being. The staff is committed to compassionate, excellent comfort care for patients, and follows their loved ones for a year beyond the patient's death. Besides nurses, the staff includes medical directors, nurse practitioners, medical social workers, certified nurse assistants, chaplains, and volunteers.
