Interfaith Family Services empowers families in crisis to break the cycle of poverty.
About This Cause
Since 1985, Interfaith Family Services (Interfaith) has empowered families in crisis to break the cycle of poverty. Although we have grown over the last 38 years, we remain a faith-based organization committed to modeling Christ’s love for the poor. We have helped hundreds of families transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency, with an emphasis on outcomes and impact. To expand our impact – serving not only homeless families but helping to prevent homelessness as well, we launched our $11.5 million capital campaign to build Dallas’s first full-serve Family Empowerment Center in 2015. In June of 2019, we opened the doors to our new Family Empowerment Center, which combines our 0 to 18 years old Childcare & Youth Service Center with our Adult Education Center on one full-service, family-centered Dart-accessible site. This holistic combination is especially beneficial for the single mothers who currently account for 90% of the families we serve. Our hope is that not only will the lives of the families we serve be transformed, but that our methodology for addressing poverty will catalyze private and public sector change that empowers all Dallas families to live self-sufficient lives.
