About This Cause
Cornerstone was founded in 1992 to help meet needs of families and individuals in our community. This is accomplished through Relief (immediate emergency services), Recovery (career, financial and educational coaching), and Restoration (moving families to self-sufficiency) programs. Services include a food pantry and clothing closet; referrals to over 250 community Network Partners, a charitable clinic with volunteer specialists in neurology, endocrinology, gynecology, physiology, and many others; the nation's only completely free Cataract Clinic operated from a charitable clinic; housing for 18 homeless men; housing for women reentering the community after incarceration; a housing program for first-time home buyers; Adult Education classes including GED; the Tarrant County Reentry 1st Stop Center; as well as two Social Enterprises (Catering Division and Thrift Store).
