Mission Statement

As a division of the E. Stanley Jones Foundation, The Way Consulting, Int’l. exists to save lives and ease emotional pain by bringing evidence-informed training and practices in mental health and suicide prevention and response to public, private, and faith-based organizations, such that our engagement serves as a catalyst to transform organizational behavior and improve lives.

About This Cause

The E. Stanley Jones Foundation (ESJF) is a non-profit entity. Through our subdivision, The Way Consulting, Int’l., our consulting and training programs advance the cause of hurting humankind with evidence-based processes that address mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Our legacy of mental health engagement dates back to 1950 when Dr. Jones established the Nur Manzil Psychiatric Clinic in Lucknow, India. The ESJF recently developed a suicide prevention training center, and more than 2500 nurses are now trained each year in suicide prevention and return to their communities and towns with newfound skills to save lives. While suicide has no single cause, it, too, has no single solution. The response must be comprehensive, evidence and data-informed, and multi-dimensional—the Way Consulting Int’l.’s team of subject matter experts knows what needs to be done, how to get it done, and secure results. Our network of expert mental health professionals develops and implements suicide prevention programs that are culturally competent, transformative, scalable, feasible, evidence-informed, sustainable, and successful. Our comprehensive suicide prevention programs and training can be implemented in workplaces, businesses, healthcare settings, faith communities, governmental organizations, and agencies, as well as in schools and communities. It is essential to take a life-span approach as the risk and protective factors for children and youth may differ from those of middle-aged and older adults. Risk factors may also differ among certain groups, such as veterans, indigenous individuals, and members of underserved, at-risk communities. The Way Consulting Int’l. recognizes the challenges, uses the best practices, and knows how to intervene with intention and precision to achieve results. It’s time to rethink how we engage in suicide prevention, as past approaches have not yielded the desired results. Our sole focus is saving lives, restoring hope, and strengthening the community through effective suicide prevention programs. Omit following sentence...We embrace the best of science and practice to achieve these results. A participant in a recent training described his experience: “The day after the event, I found myself talking with someone about the importance of ‘hope and connection.’ I am in conversation with parents whose children are at risk. The information I received about suicide prevention provides me with something to offer and share that I believe will make a difference. The wealth of the resources presented during the training and made available afterward are invaluable. “
