FHS also helps to reduce the number of abandoned, abused and unwanted animals through education and spay/neuter. The Frisco Humane Society was formed in October 2001 by a group of experienced rescue workers. To date, FHS has saved over 8,600 animals and our goal is to save as many unwanted adoptable animals as we can from being euthanized in area shelters. We also want to prevent countless numbers of unwanted animals from being born through our spay/neuter program. FHS rescues dogs and cats primarily from city run Animal Control Facilities. All animals in the FHS program live in foster homes until they can be placed permanently. FHS provides all necessary medical care prior to adoption for each animal including: Rabies Vaccination* Viral Vaccinations* Flea/Deworming Prevention* Canine Heartworm Test / Feline Leukemia and FIV Test Heartworm Treatment (if necessary) Spaying or Neutering Microchip *Age appropriate at the time of adoption
