A nonprofit directed by identical twins Lindsay & Lexie Kite, PhD, promoting positive body image for girls and women through online education, activism and speaking events.
About This Cause
Grounded in the Kite sisters' doctoral research in body image resilience, Beauty Redefined teaches people to recognize, reject and resist harmful messages about female bodies in media and cultural influences. Girls and women who feel OK about their bodies — meaning they aren’t “disgusted” with them like more than half of women today — take better care of themselves. With body shame and eating disorders at epidemic levels, this point is crucial. Beauty Redefined helps girls and women of all ages cultivate positive body image through providing engaging online education, social media activism and popular speaking events in a variety of settings.
