Holiday charity providing shoes and clothing to needy school children
About This Cause
The Goodfellow Fund is the Fort Worth Star-Telegram newspaper holiday charity and was founded by employees in 1912, over 100 years ago. The Goodfellow Fund provides clothing and shoes for underprivileged Tarrant County school-age children during the holiday season. All families are required to provide documentation for identification, income, residence and children in school. The families are vetted by volunteers working through the Catholic Charities Diocese of Fort Worth. In 2015 the Goodfellow Fund served 18,000 needy school children providing a gift card for $50 to purchase only shoes and clothing.
